Devil Went Down to
Georgia
"Johnny"
Johnny had the most fun send-off
with the entire cargo crew of burly men waving and calling "Bye Johnny!"
as he boarded his flight! Johnny is now home in Northern California with
Pat where he is keeping his options open to dabble in Flyball and agility!
Here is a picture of Johnny, right
before he decided the camera looked tasty, attacked it and slobbered all
over it. You can see in his expression that is exactly what he was
planning to do. He is sooooo cute! I'm in love.
He is settling in very well. He
apparently did not read the book on Aussies and the Aussie reserve. He
seems to like everyone. The first evening he was here, we had a blackout
in the complex, so everyone popped out of their homes to ask each other
if their power was out too. You meet people you've never seen before
during a blackout. Anyway, I walked out to chat with the neighbors and
brought Mr. Charm with me. He now officially has more friends than I do.
If I leave the place without him, some neighbor will stop me and ask
where he is.
He has attached himself to me
pretty well. He likes to nap under my chair and if I move from one chair
to another, he barely opens his eyes, toddles over to that chair and
goes back to sleep. Of course, that's when he actually does sleep. He is
a little dynamo. I had him outside this morning chasing a ball and just
generally running himself ragged. It's so funny the way he is going
full-tilt one minute and then just crashes. He goes to sleep very nicely
in his little pen at night, but then he wakes up at 3 or so and has to
go outside ( he has picked up the going outside idea very quickly. Only
one accident that I know of). After that, there is no getting him back
to sleep until he plays for a while. *yawn*. We are still working on
that one. He is a very well-adjusted little pup. Although he does not
like me to leave him alone, he will complain only for a few minutes, and
be happily playing with his toys or napping when I return.
He had his first visit with his
new Vet on Friday and everyone in the Vet's office is also in love with
him. He passed with flying colors, although she wanted to wait to give
him his second set of shots, so he will be going back in a couple of
weeks. He still does NOT like riding in the car. He cried and howled all
the way there and back. Hopefully, if I take him enough happy places in
the car, he will get over that. I am so glad he came to live with me. I
just love him to pieces.
